At 7:00 PM CST tonight we will have our first conference championship game, resulting in a ticket punched to the NCAA tournament. In the Ohio Valley we will have (1) Little Rock vs. (3) Morehead State, with the 3-seed as a 5-point favorite. 24 people are alive which is great to see for our first conference championship game. 18 of the 24 are on Morehead State, and all signs point to them winning based on the spread, and analytics. If Morehead State does pull off the victory, we will see bonus points on our first championship opportunity. For the 6 people on Little Rock, it would be a victory for them, as well as anyone already eliminated since it keeps bonus points off the standings. In just a few hours we will have some real standings in our pool. 🏀

Ohio Valley Championship Game Preview: Little Rock vs. Morehead State
We had a few pool losses this morning that helped shape the current standings as we go into our first conference championship game. First, (1) High Point lost in overtime to (5) Longwood, putting Longwood in the Big South championship game. Matthew is still rolling with his long shot Longwood pool pick. We saw something similar in the Northeast Conference where (1) Central Connecticut State lost to (5) Wagner. Unlike the previous scenario, nobody in our pool picked Wagner, but this one hurt some people.
We saw another great Big South semifinal with (2) UNC Asheville beating (3) Gardner-Webb in overtime, setting up a championship game matchup with 5-seed Longwood. Finally, to wrap up this afternoon's action, in the America East, both (1) Vermont and (2) UMass Lowell escaped being upset by some terrible teams. This afternoon has been wild. 😰
In addition to our first conference championship tonight, we still have games in the Coastal Athletic, Missouri Valley, Southern, Summit League, Sun Belt, Big Sky, and West Coast conferences. I'll continue to update the standings, even if I don't post a blog entry.
